Fall in love with Spring!!
22 February 2011
Spring is in the air and up here in Donegore, we think there isn't a better season than spring to fall in love with!! What season promises more?? Colourful crocus are peeping through, daffodils are poking their heads up and it won't be long before the forsythia and cherry trees are bursting with life!! Blue skies and sunny days are just around the corner and there's plenty to be done. Early spring is all about a little tidying up and forward planning! Here are some of our suggestions:
1. Plant now for a colourful border....
Gladioli, dahlias, begonias, lillies, nerines .... all designed to add a colour injection into the garden. With all the colours of the rainbow available, there is bound to be a bulb to suit you! Nothing is as simple or as easy as planting bulbs.
If you want something with a wee bit more life about it, our little baby herbaceous plants are just the thing for you. Perfect for plugging gaps in the border, there little plants won't need too much hard work. We have a huge range in stock now, £3.99 each or 3 for £10.00.
2. Have a go - grow your own ......
Do you like potatoes? Or onions? Or carrots? If yes, why not have a go at growing your own? It's not difficult - you just need to select your varieties, get some seeds and get started!! Don't worry if you don't have a lot of space, lots of vegetables can be grown in pots. We have everything you need to get self sufficient in store now so why not pay us a visit and get started? Our friendly staff will be on hand to give you any help or advice you need.
3. Tidy up!
A little work now goes a long way ..... removing all those leaves which have blown in to the corner, brushing the paths and generally giving the garden a little tidy will add a little sparkle. It will also give you a chance to see what's happening out there - new signs of life, what gaps have appeared and anything that needs a little prune.
Spring is definately our favourite season - there are so many things about to burst into life .... |We have crocus, daffodils, hellebores, magnolias, forsythia, witch hazels, cherry trees all budding up well - whats happening in your garden?
